Grown Up Little Boy Poem by Jeffrey Markle

Grown Up Little Boy

The winds did howl
The snow did fly
On that December day

Many things to acquire
So mmuch tO buy
While we prepared the way

The time of arrival
None to short
Did not come to soon

We didn't really know
The time he would come
Was one eighteen in the afternoon

Ten fingers ten toes
A little pug nose
This all was oh so new

There was a little drooling
And all sorts of cooing
From this little guy dressed in blue

Well soon he'd be crawling
And then he'd be walking
I'm sure he thought that was fun

Nothing brought laughter
When he knew he got faster
And he'd turn and take off and run

Then there be heroes
Mainly Batman and Robin
I believe even Ghostbusters too

An inspector named Gadget
Many things some like magic
And superman dressed all in blue

As he grew up and got older
These things too would pass
Then he would find anew

New friends and new spaces
All sorts of new places
To keep him being true
