Great Literary Writers: Can Write Up A Storm Poem by Terence George Craddock

Great Literary Writers: Can Write Up A Storm

there is wisdom in perception
anyone who has studied literature
great writers knows that discipline
good grammar does not make
good writing without innate talent;
consider signature unique personality
diction of various writers poets
their life experiences emotions passions;

authors write fully rounded characters
in novels may have elements of dialect;
slang some will must speak
with environmental educational
grammatical errors;
reflecting cultural influences;

educational opportunities abilities
diverse encapsulated life experiences;
hardships adversity seeds insights
a novel with characters all speaking
like educated university graduates;
will not be found in the literary output
of exceptional writers like William Shakespeare;
Mark Twain, Jack Kerouac, Jack London;
Steven King countless entertaining others;

all are masters of their genre because
these authors wrote with diverse characters
with differing perceptions insights morals;
a study of the writing routine of many great
writers reveals a unique individual style
within the times of the day or night;
they choose to write
the duration in time spent
writing editing polishing;

like 'Leaves of Grass'
Wilt Whitman inspired sang
personal life experiences
contrast experiential travel
differing employment changes
vision imaginative creativity
infuses awe impact writing
with the authenticity of reality;

attempting to write
what we do not know
or understand; to use
a cliche out of context
will ring hollow;

it is interesting to reflect
upon the writers who lacked
the ability to succeed
within brick in the wall
education system of their youth
dropped out;

perhaps because of their difficulties
frustrations nailed the ability to write
with time sliced perceptive insight;

finding our own creative voice
will not be found in a few years
chosen courses university studies;

unique creative insight
ability already exists
within our own mind ideas;

within beating enduring heart
writing from stream
of consciousness;

the words write us
we do not write the words;
conscious thought

moments of eureka
inspiration produce
very different results;

great athletes, writers, singers
are born with skills abilities
that can be performance;

improved with disciplined
training but like Olympic
podium gold medalists;

only unique talent
within a window
of opportunity;

can reach
the peak
of success;

in athletics
in art
in poetry;

the summit of athletic success
the summit of intellectual genius
the summit of artistic creativity

postscript:
great literary writers stretch mind genius
like Olympic athletes train stretch muscles
winner sustains required pace for entire race
