Grandpa Poem by Jennifer Cramer

Grandpa

You went up the hill
Then came down
You went out
without a sound

Don’t worry
We’ll be fine
The sad sorrow
Lessens in time

You may be gone
But we won’t forget
We thank you
For the time that you spent

Now be happy
With your wife
And enjoy
Your eternal life

We’ll miss you
It’s true
But we’ll try
Not to stay blue

We will think of you
Everyday
And remember your face
When you came home in May

And how you loved
Playing cards
Throwing quarters
Or baseball in the yard

When you get your wings
You’ll be an angel among the rest
Your halo will be golden
And you’ll be the best

We’ll miss you dearly
But we will always know
You will watch over us
And you’ll find ways to let it show
