Grampa Poem by Wendy Moravec

Grampa

I saw your laughter and your tears
Both brought happiness that you were near
When Grandma died it broke your heart
Making you feel alone and lost.
I saw your hurt and it tore me in two
Wishing I could help but knowing it would never do
You wanted to join her and hold her near
But stayed for us a few more years
I saw you in a sleep from which you’d never wake
I stood beside your coffin
And knew you’d gone to a better place
I want you to know as you fly with the angels
That you are loved and will never be forgotten.
Not by Me. Never by Me.
I love you Grampa, of that please believe.
I love you.
