Goodnight Poem by Daniel Bowyer

Goodnight

Tucked up hoping it was over
Laboured breathing
Laboured life
Looked out on us all
One last time
So I kissed your head
And touched your hand
Goodnight dear champion
Lower your shield
The fight is over
For months your battled
The blackness inside
But some battles can never be won
Only prolonged
So goodnight my champion
One last time
Goodnight
