Goodbye Poem by terence nabbs

Goodbye

Rating: 5.0

Have you ever said goodbye,
Not your every day goodbye.
Like I’ll see you tomorrow, or see you later,
I mean Permanent, forever goodbye.
Never having to shout upstairs again,
Tea’s made “love”.
No lunch for work, no breakfast chat
That’s all gone, I’m shopping for one.
That’s Goodbye

No shirt’s to wash, under pant’s or smelly sock’s,
One toothbrush in the holder, no bristles in the sink.
I stand and wish and give a gentle sigh.
That’s goodbye.

All the mess that’s made is made by me,
There’s now nobody else to blame,
The telephone only rings for me,
And the post is just for Mrs.
That’s the most that I have left,
No hug’s no love no kisses.
That’s good bye.

The house is always tidy
My kitchens wear’s a crown
The bathroom looks a picture.
And the bog seat’s always,
“DOWN“.
Now that’s goodbye

Very emotional Terry, I felt the sincerity of your words wash through me as I read them.
