Gone Poem by Kayla Jacobs

Gone

i know this isn't what you wanted
not what you intended
just an escape from fate
the weight got too much
the rope around your neck got so tight
they broke you around your heart
wouldn't let you go
legs kicking the air
pulling you around like a ragdoll
don't worry dear it will be over soon
the breath leaves you
not a sight to see
the pain that releases you
not as happy as you thought it would be
hanging there for the world to see
but your too gone to care
don't worry dear you're already there
you don't see the pain you erected upon your family
the escape you thought you had
was just an illusion to be said
tomorrow you won't see
only the iron rings of the knocking door
as you're pulled under
don't fret it will be over soon
the pain is long gone
only the future lies with wrought iron links
tie you to the ground
for all to see
