Going Home Poem by Aidan Clevinger

Going Home

This poem is meant to be a testimony to faith and an encouragement to all those who believe. As long as we remain in Christ, then death is not the end. On the contrary, it is 'better by far' (Phillippians 1: 13)

Where is it that I'm going?
Dear children, do not cry.
I am going to fall into a deep sleep,
And when I awake, I'll be home.

Dear children, wipe away your teras,
Let the rain fall upon your face.
For though today the clouds are thick,
The sun will shine when I go home.

My wounds have taken their toll,
I grow weary.
Dear children, I have fought the fight,
Now I go to enter rest.

The noise of battle dims,
Dear children, the time has come.
To the Valley of the Lillies I go singing,
The Lord calls.

Dear children, do not be afraid,
We shall soon be together again.
My time in this foreign land is done,
My God is calling me home.
