God’s Christmas Gift To Man! Poem by Dr John Celes

God’s lovely gift
of love for man
was, being born
a child Himself,
named Emmanuel
(That’s ‘God with us’)

on Christmas Day’s
cold wintry night,
in manger at
Bethlehem town!

As angels flashed
The news around
To shepherds near,
Who heard in fear,

And three Magi
From East too came,
Brought by the Star
Of Bethlehem!

'And born was joy,
A baby boy;
Who brought us peace
To live in ease.'

The King of kings
And Lord of lords
Would die on cross
For mankind’s sins,
Creation since,

And pay the price
For all on earth,
Though sinners be
To reach heaven!

What love supreme
Then God showed man,
Of all creatures
He’d made with love!

Our living God,
Our loving God,
Wants every soul
Live with this goal!
