God Hates This Heart

Whom have I in Heaven
But you
There is nothing on earth
I desire beside you
My heart and my strength
Many times they fall
But there is one truth
That always will prevail

God is the strength
Of my heart
God is the strength
Of my heart
God is the strength
Of my heart
And my portion forever

God is the strength
Of my heart
God is the strength
Of my heart
God is the strength
Of my heart
And my portion forever

Forever, forever

God is the strength
Of my heart
God is the strength
Of my heart
God is the strength
Of my heart
And my portion forever

Forever, forever

God is the strength
Of my heart
God is the strength
Of my heart
God is the strength
Of my heart
And my portion forever

God is the strength
Of my heart
God is the strength
Of my heart
God is the strength
Of my heart
And my portion forever

Forever, forever, forever

1989 Eugene Greco

My rewrite of the above song, God Is The Strength of My Heart by Eugene Greco

Whom do I have in Heaven
Certainly not you
Certainly not you
Oh no certainly not you
Oh cruel Lord
You've given me nothing on this earth
No, nothing
Nothing at all
Always every day
I feel passed over by you
So very passed over by you
Always it seems you are out only to make me fail
Only out to make me fail
You know
I know
We both know
This is the truth
You never want me
You never want me to prevail

God hates this heart
God hates this broken down, lonely heart
God hates this ragged, forsaken heart
And oh, oh God I fear he will forever more

God hates this heart
God hates this broken down, lonely heart
God hates this ragged, forsaken heart
And oh, oh God I fear he will forever more

Forever, forever, forever more

God hates this heart
God hates this broken down, lonely heart
God hates this ragged, forsaken heart
And oh, oh God I fear he will forever more

God hates this heart
God hates this broken down, lonely heart
God hates this ragged, forsaken heart
And oh, oh God I fear he will forever more

God hates this heart
God hates this broken down, lonely heart
God hates this ragged, forsaken heart
And oh, oh God I fear he will forever more

Forever, forever, forever more
I fear
Forever more

Oh Lord, forever more

Ramona, i dont' think God hates your heart. you might feel hope less sometimes but there is no reason to feel like God does not care about you. Give him a chance to enter in your heart and life and you'll see that everything changes. it takes a bit of hard work to let him in but that hard work is worth. you just need desire and patience. unlike jeffrey street, i think God has enough love to love every single person in this world. if it wasn't like that, why do you think he gave his own son so we could be saved? think about it and give him a chance. Heartfelt frustration indeed. It may be true that God hates some hearts. If your poem refers to your heart, I caution you to press in and not choose to abandon hope that God loves your heart. I often feel as your poem describes, and wish that He would just take me away from this life. But I caution myself to recall which of us is God, and it isn't me. My God restore your hope. Dost see how unregarded now
That piece of beauty passes?
There was a time when I did vow
To that alone;
But mark the fate of faces;
