God And Man Poem by Michael P. Johnson

God And Man

In truth God came as man to earth
Choosing from Heaven’s throne
A virgin maid through which He’d birth
The Son He’d call His own

The Lord revealed His master plan
His secret veiled so long
Coming as God walking as man
Singing life’s righteous song

He came, to show the way to live
He came man’s soul to free
And through the Gift He died to give
The truth about the tree

As man! The Lord bore so much pain
Upon that dreadful tree
Many believe His death in vain
Who fail to bend their knee

Though Jesus spoke of hell and fire
The end of sin and shame
Where hate, pride, where self desire
Will burn and curse His name

Christ warned of this and so much more
When days of Noah return
To life and love He’ll close the door
On those condemned to burn

The truth is here the time is now
Believe and understand
Who’s knees in truth to Christ now bow
Will see The Promised Land

But as before, its still today
Speaking of love and wrath
People just turn and walk away
Down hell’s wide twisted path
