Go Quietly Poem by Francis Duggan

Go Quietly

Go quietly like the river near the great ocean shore
Back to Nature's bosom to rest forever more
Go dignified though you're experiencing pain
And grudges you hold to your end don't retain
Before you go make your peace with everyone
For life it is short when all is said and done
Forgive those who have wronged you in any way
Do not bear your grudges 'til your dying day
Why lament lost chances you feel that you've had
You've had your good times and life is not all bad
And whether we are buried or cremated and to ashes do burn
We all come from Nature and to her must return
From life for us all there's a final release
So go without anger to your rest in peace.
