Glasshouse Poem by Dereck Gibbs

Glasshouse

Rating: 5.0

In a glasshouse
Stepping lightly
To avoid a complete travesty
A Tainting of this sanctuary

Open air surgery
Going through bypass
My heart is exposed
Can you see it?

Bleeding for you
Beating for you
Irresistible this urge
To love you

I stumble
Drunk on your affections
I fall and hit the floor
Waiting arms gone

I see you
There holding that rock
Dealing the coup de grace
Rejection so hard
Thrown at my house

This glasshouse
Already cracked
You break me apart
Helpless to stop it
Should I build again?
