Give Me More Apples Poem by Adams King

Give Me More Apples

Rating: 4.5

Give me more apples
Bring me close to you
Hold me very tight
Let me have more bites

Come Eve let's dance
Break the spell of distance
Kiss me to intoxication
Let run in the right direction

Who spoke of tales untrue
That you made me lose heaven
They must be ironically wise
For we found a better Paradise

You made me more like gods
Keep me in your romantic world
Let me have some bites and more
Leave open your heaven's door

Let break the chains of madness
In this middle lies more sweetness
Bone of my bone I called you
Let's lie naked under the black or blue

My serpent has risen Eve
Let your honey hole shelter me
Let's have an endless ecstasy
For our curses were fallacies

Give me more apples my Eve
You are a Queen I can't deceive
Out of me you were formed
Yet out of you I shall be reformed

BONE OF MY BONE! Love inspired you to recast this timeworn parable. Your fresh humor makes it beautiful. To describe nighttime as " the black or blue" makes me think of bruises that are healed by love. A 10 for ecstatic originality. (I suggest changing the Stanza 3, Line 3 to " They must be ironically UNWISE" ;) .
