Ghazal (Our Eyes Were Locked) Poem by Shabeeh Haider

Ghazal (Our Eyes Were Locked)

Rating: 5.0

OUR EYES WERE LOCKED(GHAZAL)
.
Our eyes were locked and there I read,
All that your lips had left unsaid.
.
The peacocks danced where you would sit,
And flowers bloomed where you would tread.
.
I hid my face deep in your hair,
And in my soul your fragrance spread.
.
Sleep does not come when you have gone,
All night I toss and turn in bed.
.
The day of parting was so tough,
The eyes had cried, the heart had bled.

Your words were all that I could trust,
How could you forget all you said?
.
Can Shabeeh take more of your blows?
For though he bleeds, he's still not dead
