Getting Away With Murder Poem by Krazy Rae

Getting Away With Murder

Silently I creep
in the darkness
to my intended goal.
I feel the tingling forces
as they guide me movements.
I hear their whispers
that encourage this deception.
My mind is turning somersaults
as well as my stomach.
The knife in my hand catches the light
for a brief second, but it's all that I need.
They've spotted me.
Their giddiness and laughter stop
as the stare into me wild eyes
They try to run but it is much too late.
I cut one down the others turn to beg for mercy
but I hear nothing that bends my will
I stoop to whisper that it never had to be this way.
I get up and strut away leaving two bloodied bodies lying in the street.
I hear the screams, I hear the sobs
but my cold heart only smiles
as they try to figure out where the killer has gone
but where am I?
I'm standing amongst the onlookers stifling my laughter a
at the stupidity and absurdity of how no one notices
the bloody knife in my hand as I turn and walk away.
