Geode, hollow spherical rock,
A word meaning earthlike in Greek.
Crystals can form with nature's clock
Inside, colorfully unique.
So when such rock does break apart,
Its dull outside does open to
An inside of quite lovely art
Of crystals in both form and hue.
There came a time, one rock did split.
Maybe someday we will know why.
Two pieces shimmered all sunlit,
Both orbiting up in the sky.
When the dust cleared, we did see soon,
A lovely geode be the moon.
