Galveston Poem by Speedy Hartman

Galveston

on the patio terrace
overlooking the salty gulf
we shared fine food

in the company
of the seaside sparrows
and the laughing gulls

with a toast of our lips

quite sea land town, tourist abound
tall majestic palms, courtyard flowers
swaying with the breeze.
unspoiled shores, intersected with
piers and shops alike

it was this special moment
that set the pace
of our lips there

it melted away all our cares
and bought light
to every corner of our hearts

oh! what wonderment we shared
in a loft by the sea
what a time we had
- there is always looking back
