G Y P S Y Poem by Jim Boone

G Y P S Y

Rating: 5.0

Gotta go – always
No roots, just wheels
No strings, just tambourines
A tapestry of friends and lovers
Chorus lines from Broadway
To the Magnolia Ball Room
And around the old town square.

Gypsy’s gotta dance, gotta sing
Pitch my crimson tent
Under a willow tree or
On a beach or by a sparkling stream

Gypsy’s full of sass and full of Spirit
Touch my skin, taste my lips
Under the stars or in the shade
Of your heart; give me a reason
To be joyful and the gilded promise
In each flirtation and seduction
The silken cushion on which you lie
The kiss on each fingertip
The twinkle in each eye.

Let me bathe you in my Gypsy passion
Rub you with the hands of time
Kiss you asleep and awake
Pause together as if time
Were our invention – patient
A forever moment focused
Eye to eye, heart to heart.

Dance Gypsy, sing Gypsy
Laugh Gypsy, love Gypsy
Now and forever more. 2011
