Fruit Bat '22 - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Fruit Bat '22 - Lincoln Park Zoo

As a fruit bat I like to do
A hanging out in a fruit tree
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo,
An eater of fruit I do be.
Over time I've come to know that
There really is no fruit tree here
Growing in my Zoo habitat.
But I am still filled with good cheer,
Knowing that my keepers show up
In count upon daily pursuit
Of always making my day, yup,
Visiting me and bearing fruit.

I see the keeper coming now.
I smack my lips, here comes fruit chow.
