Fructuous Tree Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

Fructuous Tree

Success is the fruit of layman's labor,
It's good to enjoy, it's nice to savor;
Sacrifice and toil, they are not in vain,
Even if oft times, the mind is in pain.

People say that life is a play or game,
Sometimes the wild world is so hard to tame;
Envy's stone is thrown at the big apple,
As the monsters wait for the king to fall.

Slaves of jealousy are eaten by hate,
For they have entered into anger's gate;
They cannot escape from the chain of ire,
Because they have heart with evil desire.

Yes, failure in life is a stepping stone
Toward win streak when seed of work is sown;
Victorious harvest is in the offing,
Whatever happens, leaves will always cling.
