Frozen Buds Poem by empty shell

Frozen Buds

Rating: 5.0

slouched on the leather couch until my lower back throbs

snow induced lethargy has captured my soul

my empty heart beating has drowned out all sound

yet my body rises and heads out the door

winter bites my face, i squint at snow-magnified sun

i shuffle to the meadows epi-white-center

shrug my coat off, watch it fall to the ground

raise my arms and head, to the sky

the earth-star bathes my face with heat, ingulfs me in light

a smile takes over my face

frozen tears, now crack, on my stupid grinning mug

i'll miss you winter, my love
