Friend Poem by Barry Middleton

Friend

Rating: 3.8

You are my friend.
In my home
you may come as you are
and stay as you like.

There is nothing that is mine
and mine alone
that you may not share.

You owe me nothing
for this fragile gift,
but put your joy
for my reward
in giving you
that opposite
of loneliness
we call
friendship.

True friendship seeks no reward. Accepting your friend for whom she is, without judging, will mean everything to her. Hope all is well on your mountain Barry.

Thanks for correcting me, Barry. But it doesn't make much of a difference when there is transparency and mutual faith that sustains a relationship.

I did not intend as correction, only as information. Glad you liked the poem.

Lovely poem devoted to a friend and to his friendship 'that opposite..... of loneliness'. Great presentation of a sublime relationship. Thanks, Barry.
