Freedom Poem by Victor Cruickshank

Freedom

Society is the master that cages us all
I am just like a bird put in a cage
Put in a cage facing a wall
Just hoping that one day, she’ll turn the page
Hoping I won’t be bored with age
Hoping I won’t blast onto the stage
Fleeing the cage with rage
And demanding my wage
For the bird in captivity has grown feathers
Go to every town and have the last get-togethers
This bird will fly in all weathers
For as Frost said before he was old
Freedom lies in being bold.
