Francois' Langur - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Francois' Langur - Lincoln Park Zoo

Francois' langur monkeys we be,
Named after some French diplomat
Who came to China just to see
Us close in native habitat.
Leaves are the fav food that we eat.
We live in groups led by females.
The males do duty, like guard beat,
And the sex stuff (absent details) .
Our coats are black silky fur,
Sticking straight up on the head top.
White ear to cheek sideburns occur,
Never been to the barbershop.

Come see us at Lincoln Park Zoo.
You eyeball us, we'll eyeball you.
