Four Pearls Inlaid Ornament [28- 30] Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Four Pearls Inlaid Ornament [28- 30]

28. Water stores and remains long in a pit.
Sin remains with the evil one blamed by others.
In one who destroys ascetic life, lust abounds.
When misery assaults, one's learning stands by.

29. Nothing gives strength to one as wealth.
Nothing is supportive as education.
No one's peevish words are as painful as poverty.
Giving without saying "No" is the most certain thing.

30. Seeing the smoke, we feel the fire. A joyful
face reflects the joy in mind. One's facial signs,
words and deeds show the rancour in mind.
When malice appears, misery begins.
