Fossil Fuel Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Fossil Fuel

Rating: 5.0

Transformed from living matter
Aged and compressed
Capable of releasing a roar
Combusting…leading the quest

Unearthed vestiges of the extinct
Resurrected lush vegetation
And flesh… both warm and cold
Bestowing power and acceleration

Igniting… providing progress
Invigorated docile remains
Bursting into modern exhibitions
Emitting toxic clouds from flames

Solar rays accompany blowing winds
Patiently surrounding… on standby
Awaiting the day of perpetuation
As fossil fuel dwindles in supply
