Forget Me Not Poem by Jennifer Strubel

Forget Me Not

Rating: 5.0

I dream of sunny meadows,
where by my side she´s near.
Her eyes so blue they pale the sun,
watch me skip through dry grasses.
Under the pear tree, she tells stories of past;
God, she must have been beautiful.
Days of wonder stand still in time,
with fists full of Forget-Me-Nots, I clench.
Take me never, from this cloud of youth,
you will be there on my wedding day.
But all things end, as the darkness nears.
And forget me not, I hear her say -
as I watch her blue eyes fade with the setting sun.

This is one hell-of-a-good metaphor, Jennifer. And you're one hell-of-a-good writer.
