Forever's Door Poem by Gary Revel

Forever's Door

Sometimes the life we choose is not one we think best
As the wind blows where it will, and life is the test
Not the one we want most, deep down in our soul
Would be the life of leisure or life on the dole

So talking all about it is supposed to find
A place of understanding, to ease your mind
Yet, every day we still go on, thinking it right
That choice we made, it's doubt and done, both day and night

When at the end we look behind, whence we used to be
There won't be a tomorrow, not I'd think I'd see
Forever, is not a time and place, it's much more
I chose this life, I lived, and now forever's door
