Forever Let Me Love You Poem by Dennis Lambert

Forever Let Me Love You

Forever let me love you,
though seasons we are apart,

though roses scent your summer,
and my autumn has had its start.

So easy it was to love you,
you must have lived within my heart.

So natural was your gentle touch,
I knew we’d never been apart.

Perhaps upon the rugged cliffs
rising high above an ancient shore

where seagulls dipped and soared
above a tossing timeless sea,

we kissed beneath the ageless stars,
and I drank your love for me.

And now your kisses cover me
and taste like smooth familiar wine-

so fragrant with that other place,
enchanted with that other time.
