For You, Love Poem by Sayantan Dutta

For You, Love

I have given up everything, love
Given up my identity, my friends, all the spontaneous joy I used to feel while being with you
Just hoping you will finish the rest, someday...

I lack confidence to laugh, I misinterpret surer signs now
Procession of faces goes by me, I stare at it blankly

I know it's easier to be indifferent for the commons
They find it fitting to their weakened ego and sadistic lookouts
Maybe I am just no different...maybe
Maybe I was there for you...forever
You didn't let me
I don't blame you for what you did
It was me who misled all the way
Even your God can never decode the ways of this debauched sinner
It's a lost cause
It's a hopeless cause
It's gone
It's gone
It's gone
