For Scooner, About The Closeness Poem by Annie Cordelia Adams

For Scooner, About The Closeness

Even my breath smells like yours now
the awkward empty smell of a clean mouth
but without the minty flavour
Even I think like you do now
It's all just a feeling that makes us
there's no need to convey it
We already know what it is
Everything knows what it is
You're just the part I like best
Math understands Poetry
and Reason understands Oceans
Passiveness understands Infinity
Eventually.
