For Many Years Poem by Michael Saurer

For Many Years

For so many years gone
I thought
That there would be no such girl
For many years to come
I’ll know
That she is such a girl

For so many days lost
I imagined
There’s somebody I’d never find
For coming days most
I’ll remember
That she is the one I mind

For all the minutes spend
I believed
That my heart would be cold like ice
For all what these minutes meant
I’ll be sure
That ice can melt because of her eyes

For many seconds counted
I was lost
In a world of dark and cold
For how these seconds sounded
I now can hear
That life is not lost for the bold

Whatever destiny will do
To her and to me
I know that I’ll see
Her luck is worth looking to
