We defy the wisdom of the Most High
And set our wills against the Lord’s
And seek for knowledge elsewhere
And wisdom from the wrong places
And wonder why chaos besieges
And our lives continue to degrade
For all the advancement of the age
We cease not to age and die betimes
And yes, you can amend your looks
And preserve some youthfulness
But age and time gets to you duly
Willingly or unwillingly
But the common wisdom we abhor
To seek His face and live aright
To enjoy His companionship daily
To unveil His glory in our living
And to retire graceful to His last call
And to disembark in celestial glory
