Foolish Poem by Sandra van Coppenhagen

Foolish

here i stand
once again within the darkness
the unknown is overwhelming
i suppose it is true
i brought this upon myself
i cannot blame you
it's my own foolishness
that made me love you so
funny, i'm afraid of losing you
and you're the one afraid to commit
what kind of love is this?
why do i do this to myself
what's the point
i don't understand any more
i don't want to feel like second best anymore
i want to feel alive
like i did once upon a time
with you
but you don't want that
you want your freedom
while you keep me dangling on a string
why do i allow you to do that?
why can't i save myself?
