Fire Poem by Dyhanara Rios

Fire

Your voice feels warm in my voice
You held candles in my dreams
You exist and don't exist as reality

Someone thought we were "a thing"
Without having met you
And I know it's the way I talked about
The way your eyes light the stars
That burn bright in my sky
And steal the oxygen from me

But if we love each other
To the moon and back
What's not to say
In another lifetime
Maybe we're meant to be

No state of matter, or dark matter
Explains this dark matter of
A flame in an alternate universe
Even if it only exists in my mind
And my dreams; your heart so kind
Transcends space and understanding
