Fighting Back Poem by Stewie Johnson

Fighting Back

Tear down the enemy that stands before,
Break through,
Stand firm against the earths torment,
Showing strength,

Innocent body,
A will that bounds no man,
Grab the winds of fate,
Shake of the chains of distress,

Raise your brow with a smile,
Man is mortal,
Take down who oppose you with hate,
Strike ahead,

Endure to the last,
Make a shield of protection,
Death will drain the weary,
You are not weary,

Their bloodstained hands are reckless,
Find some control with yours,
Cast away the bonds of insecurity,
Chant out loud,

Run,
Those who pray with you,
They are with you,
Your time is now

Words of a dead man living,
“Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain,
Or live and fight your sorrow!
Now is the time to shape your stories!
Your fate is in your hands! ”
