Fiction From A Different Angle

Waiting at the 'bus stop early one day
She noticed a handsome man looking her way.
She could not refuse to return his gaze
And suddenly he was walking her way.

They boarded the 'bus, and sat side by side
She couldn't ignore him, even if she tried...
Their conversation went with a swing,
Laughing and chatting about everything.

As they exchanged numbers, he promised to call.
But she waited for days ~ there was no call at all.
Then quite unexpected and 'out of the blue'
A voice said 'hello'. Oh yes, it came true!

After talking awhile, he suggested a tour.
He'd booked the 'plane, leaving at four.
It happened so quickly before she could think...
Heathrow to Singapore in less than a week.

Then on to New Zealand to a hotel so grand
Through to Australia, such a beautiful land.
Next stop L.A. where he bought her a ring
He was in love, and to her he would cling.

But on returning to England, he said not a word!
She phoned and she phoned, but no voice was heard.
A missing person was he, and until this day
She is waiting and longing to hear him say:

~~I've booked a 'plane, be ready by three~~
But this was all a dream for a girl such as she.
She gave first love to an unknown heart
Her Innocence taking over right from the start.
