Feeling Alive Poem by William Kofoed

Feeling Alive

Heart starts to beat
A little too fast
Hands have
A little tremble
Knees are
Starting to shake
Belly has
Butterflies
Voice is
Tight and weak
Words are
Not quite right
Feeling hot
Starting to sweat
Wondering if
I will get thru this
When I am done
They start to applaud
I can't believe
That they liked it
That was
Really something
I can't wait
To do it again
