Father's Year Poem by Ragy Sandid

Father's Year

Year
It's been a year
And tomorrow a day
And I still miss you
Like it was yesterday

Somehow there's a fear
I've nothing left to say
‘cause you're not here
And you left far away

But I still feel you near
And I'll always have words
‘cause towards you I steer
Even if my words are never heard

My heart has slowed its gear
My eyes have a lesser view
My ears are still able to hear
Your thoughts as if you knew

How old I'll grow after a year
And remember you as you were
Your crown was your cheer
Your memory is our heart's repair
