Fate Drops Its Bombs Poem by Laurene Roup

Fate Drops Its Bombs

That New Year's Eve is what keeps me at bay
The sad memories haunt me in my sleep
Fate drops its bombs on me to this very day
The thing that puts me in January's keep
A foolish girl kept him in her tight hold
She never lets him be free to be himself
He is not allowed to be so bold
She is not good for his well-needed health
It pains me to see him of so very sad
A fake smile to make her oh so very pleased
He puts on an act so he does not look bad
Or is he really not that displeased
But in the end maybe we can survive
All we have to do now is take that dive
