Familiar As You



Just knowing,
The peace,
The certainty,
The intricacies
Of who you are,
The small notch of your soul,
That I know only by touch,
Like the blind woman’s tea cup,
That refreshing cold handle,
The still simmering brew,
That steams the pores of my face,
The aroma of this new liquid,
Fondly reminding me of the last cup,
I remember the whistling,
Of the metallic kettle,
Saying I am ready again,
My old friend,
I saw my face in its reflection,
