Fallen Star Poem by Daniel Hooks

Fallen Star

Fallen star

My star has faded
grown small and jaded,
my light has become dim
it used to burn bright as the sun
now my light is an angry orange flame.
I am a star in name only
a lost and lonely child of light
giving way to the cold light of space
living my life in disgrace.
One day I will become a black hole
doomed to suck things into my void of no soul.
My heart is almost gone
when it does I will destroy everything in my path
my aftermath will be the end of all planets around me
as far as the eye can see.
My ruthless gravity will be destruction
but all I wished for was love
but I failed to obtain it in a graceful way
so I will destroy everything and make it forever night
in the cold space around me.
