Fall Of Siagon Poem by Ahmed Fouad Negm

Fall Of Siagon

Abjd Hos…Huti Kalmn
Turn the page…Hold the pen
Write it down, the way it's pronounced
Saigon has fallen; they raised the flags
*******
The sun has risen; today is a day for songs
Every time we hear them; again we fall in love
The sun has risen; this day today is a fire
That heals the wounds, and relieves the pain
*******
Saigon has returned to the revolutionaries
Over the blood and beneath the fire
As hard work brings its worth; the seeds they sowed now they reap
But we, we gave ourselves away to the brokers
And when the brokers talk
To all the brokers' narrations, we oblige
The pimps read the talk
With caution and in alert
*******
They talked and talked with an imposing voice
About America, and America's might
They claimed it, a phantom, the carrier of death
The fort collapsed with America's flag
Shame on you, you superficial class
Claiming intellect, but bringing shame
Talkative brokers
Your deal is done
