If my name is not listed tomorrow, I will leave immediately
Make sure you have my memorial on new year and my departure date
I studied hard, like I boiled my rice but rice was not well cooked
Examination didn't contain red pepper but it tasted very hot.
I'll rely on you to teach our children
I'll also rely on you to clothe and feed them.
I know very well how to say thank you in Chinese and in French
If I don't go to China, I will go to France.

Mai không tên tớ, tớ đi ngay,
Giỗ Tết từ đây nhớ lấy ngày
Học đã sôi cơm nhưng chửa chín
Thi không ăn ớt thế mà cay.
Sách đèn phó mặc đàn con trẻ,
Thưng đấu nhờ tay một mẹ màỵ
Cống hỉ, mét xì, đây thuộc cả,
Chẳng sang Tàu, tớ cũng sang Tây.
