Faceless Love Poem by Jacques Johan Swart

Faceless Love

In a desolate world
My future is unfurled
Written on a bloody stone
I walk my path, I walk alone

My world is barren, barren and bare
Only life resides in a dying boutonnière
And a faceless man with a deathly stare
Living in my own nightmare

He follows me like a shadow would
From baby, to adulthood
He covers me from the coming storm
Consoles me the times I mourn

Wounds are healed with his hands
My own shield in demonic lands
I do not fear when I'm alone in the dark
For I hold his presence in my heart

His face may not be known
But he shares with me a piece of home
That which is love
