Expected Poem by Dennis Bergeron

Expected

Rating: 5.0

I will do what is expected
Even if it goes against me
I will do what is expected
Sink with the ship at sea
I will do what is expected
Keep composed and strong
I will do what is expected
Don't matter what went wrong
I will do what is expected
Just stand tall and take the blows
I will do what is expected
As a man thats how it goes
But if I did what was expected
It would all be set afire
But if I did what was expected
Someone's life will soon expire
But if i did what was expected
I'd be far away and free
But if I did what was expected
Found swinging from a tree
But if I did what was expected
There'd be no room left for doubt
But if I did what was expected
No one would ever hear you shout
But if I did what was expected
I'd let this demon take the wheel
So I'll do the unexpected
And not care how that makes you feel
