Evil Heart Poem by Pita Nuba

Evil Heart

To love or not to love, to hate with passion and to deceive another man?
Would you want to wear his shoes?
Would you want to be deceived?
You promised milk and gave nothing...?

Did you see the joy on his face when you lied?
That eruption of bliss on his face trusting you.
You would have see his smile when he believed...
And yet you continue to lie?

Tables may never turn
Your lies may never be seen
You may never be punished here..
But surely in the hereafter.

Thorns for shoes you will be given
Burning coals on your tongue for the lies
Even your spittle will rebel against you...
And for all eternity, you will burn...
