Eventful Mornings Poem by Benjamin Chiu Uy

Eventful Mornings

Eventful Mornings

The Mornings perfectly arrives,
no matter how chaotic, climactic,
bloody disastrous changes,
these last few days, have transpired,

The athletic sky follows its own intuitions,
the days of marathons and
deaths of her athletic children,

As people raced for wealths,
and prestiges,
The pinnacles of the social ladders,

The poets outwits each other's performances,
universal accolades and immortal rankings,

And the many movers on feet,
in their fastest directions, hurdles,
or stumbled or stayed behind,

The pariahs, homeless,
left behind their shacks and tunnels,
wallowing in filth hunger and disconnect,
Dreaming of redemptions and fortune smiles,

While the captains and the entrepreneurs
calls the shots, among the roaring bourses,
and thestock markets,
the grand listings in Fortune magazine,

The lord sky watched her
maneuvering children's outbursts,
greed and war,
his needs to prevail,

And the perennial dawn each day
denies any knowledge of atrocities
or attrittions committed,
Redemptions if undone or incurred,

The days casual stares of nonchalance,
In the stories of men prevailed
and nuance of the unconcerned,
