Evaporation Poem by Monica O'Connor

Evaporation

A clamorous fall from grace,
a fall into the abyss.

The misplaced links that
connect man-to-man,
that bond has not been found.

How long a breath is held, how fast a heart will melt.
Stripped of definition by a proclamation of
unconfirmed affection.

An undying necessity to feel whats real,
the desperation to fufill the end of the deal
evaporates with time.

Evaporation is the only way he'll disappear.
Realization is the only way he'll lay awake at night
and wonder what he's done.
And time is the only thing that will take care of both.
